Join Katie Noakes, London Calligraphy’s founder in the beautiful Gradidige Room at the Art Workers’ Guild for an evening class to improve your Modern Calligraphy work.

The in-person modern calligraphy course includes:

A personalised modern calligraphy improvers kit including an oblique pen holder, inks, a new nib, paper and other stationery treats.
2 hours of modern calligraphy instruction, including lots of 1 to 1 help. You will learn how to improve your words, joins and flourishes as well as work with metallic ink and stationery.
Tips, ideas and insider info from a practicing calligrapher.
Lots of inspiration to bring handwritten notes back into your life!
Light refreshments including a welcome drink, cake and unlimited tea & coffee

Your tutor Katie produces calligraphy work for a wide range of high profile clientele including Royal Ascot, Buckingham Palace, Claridge’s, Corinthia London, Fenwick, Fortnum & Mason, Net-a-Porter, Selfridges, Sézane & Tiffany & Co. to name a few. She loves to share her skills at her calligraphy classes and help people discover their own journey and handwriting style with ink.

The cost of the modern calligraphy class includes a calligraphy starter kit to use in the class and to take home with you so you can walk away and practice to your heart’s content.

Workshop duration: 2 hours.

Please note the ink can stain clothes, so please bear this in mind when dressing on the day.

Please arrive by 6:25pm as the class will start on time. Doors will open at 6:15pm.

Please make sure you can attend the calligraphy class before booking. Tickets are non-refundable.

The setting was elegant and attractive and beautifully laid out on our arrival.
Katie was a relaxed and friendly hostess and a very approachable teacher. She took us as a group through each stage of the calligraphy journey at a clear and manageable pace, then gave personal encouragement to each of us as we tried to practice it for ourselves.
I recommend this course to others for a stimulating and enjoyable experience.

My niece and I both received a voucher for Christmas and so it was lovely to attend this elegant experience together. The set up was really special and Katie is such a delight. She made the two hours seem like an entire afternoon in such a nice way. Katie is very attentive and the class was a great balance between her demonstrating a technique and us copying it. She would come around to each of us to help and encourage us to take our practicing to the next level. Everything had been thought out to ensure it was comfy and welcoming for everybody; from personalised name cards with stunning calligraphy, to hot and cold drinks and a gorgeous slice of cake.

Katie was so knowledgable, helpful and kind. She really managed to focus on our strengths and get everybody writing words by the end of the 2 hours.

It was a perfect way to spend an evening; my partner and I left absolutely thrilled and will be returning for another course in the future.
