I thoroughly enjoyed this charming two-hour introduction to calligraphy, held in a beautifully sunny but airy room in the heritage Art Worker’s Guild building in Queen Square. I arrived to a warm welcome, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee (served with a slice of naughty but delicious cake) and the soothing sounds of classical music. The course was led by Harriet, whose expertise, encouragement and obvious passion for calligraphy made the session a genuine delight. Having studied calligraphy at school many (many) years ago, this course was the perfect reawakening of my love for the art. The equipment (pen, nib and ink) and workbook, included and yours to keep, have been expertly curated. The workbook is clear, beautifully presented and designed to encourage continued practice long after the session has ended. The experience was wonderfully immersive, providing a rare opportunity to slow down, focus and enjoy the simple pleasure of creating beautiful lettering. It is also very good value for money. Whether you're a complete beginner, a stationery enthusiast, or someone (like me) who hasn't picked up a calligraphy pen and nib for a while (over 40 years!), this course is a joy. I left feeling inspired, relaxed and eager to continue practising.

Absolutely brilliant class. Katie was such a fantastic host and teacher. She had so much patience (and obviously impeccable calligraphy skills) and explained everything well and made us all feel very comfortable. Everything from the setup, the techniques to the actual location were incredible. Can only recommend it to any person that wants to take up a new hobby, explore calligraphy or just have a relaxing evening learning a new skill.

What stood out to me the most was Katie herself. From the moment she began speaking and sharing her story, her passion was immediately evident. She is incredibly talented and an attentive teacher. She takes the time to guide you, listen with care, and create an environment where you feel completely comfortable and supported. It was genuinely inspiring to listen to her, made me reflect on my own passions and reminded me how important it is to pursue what truly inspires you. I left feeling proud of what I created. I had booked the workshop as a birthday treat for myself, and it meant so much that Katie gave me a gift to celebrate. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the whole experience even more special. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I’m so glad I finally did. It was such a meaningful and beautiful experience from start to finish, and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about trying something new.

I bought the London Calligraphy beginner’s course as a gift and would highly recommend it! Harriet was a wonderful teacher and made it really easy for us complete beginners to follow along. The take home set (nib, pen, ink and workbook) was a great bonus — and the gluten-free snacks and refreshments! The setting at the Art Workers’ Guild was beautiful, and little details like the rose and name tag made it feel extra special. A really lovely day out, we’re excited to keep practising what we learned!

A really immersive and enjoyable session. I thought I knew about calligraphy having practised for a number of years but this was like starting to learn to write all over again. If you've a creative bone in your body, this is definitely worth a try!

I absolutely loved the Calligraphy Course for Beginners. Harriet was a wonderful teacher and the Art Workers Guild is a beautiful setting. We were given coffee and cake and had soothing music playing as we practised. I shall definitely be signing up for the Intermediate course and can hardly wait! Thank you for such an enjoyable morning.

The calligraphy for beginners class was absolutely amazing. It’s very impressive how you can go from zero to writing entire words in just two hours 😄

What a lovely afternoon spent learning calligraphy under the expert tuition of Katie. Learned a new skill (maybe even a new hobby!) whilst also relaxing in the beautiful Art Worker's Guild with tea and cake. Went home with pen, ink and a practice book as well as a beautiful rose and name card. Thank you Katie!
