Modern Calligraphy For Improvers

Location: The Art Worker’s Guild, 6 Queen Square, Bloomsbury, London WC1N 3AT
Time: 1:30pm-3:30pm

Join Katie at The Art Workers’ Guild for an afternoon to improve your Modern Calligraphy work.

The calligraphy class includes:

  • A personalised modern calligraphy improvers kit which will be sent out to you in the post prior to the class, including an oblique pen holder, inks, a new nib, paper and other stationery treats.
  • 2 hours of modern calligraphy instruction, including lots of 1 to 1 help. You will learn how to improve your words and joins as well as work with metallic ink and work on stationery.
  • Tips, ideas and insider info from a practicing calligrapher.
  • Lots of inspiration to bring handwritten notes back into your life!

Your tutor Katie produces calligraphy work for a wide range of high profile clientele including Royal Ascot, Buckingham Palace, Chanel, Claridge’s, Corinthia London, Fenwick, Fortnum & Mason, Net-a-Porter, Selfridges, Sézane & Tiffany & Co. She loves to share her skills at her calligraphy classes and help people discover their own journey and handwriting style with ink.

The cost of the calligraphy class includes a calligraphy kit.

Workshop duration: 2 hours.

Please note the ink can stain clothes, so please bear this in mind when dressing on the day.

Please arrive by 1:25pm as the calligraphy class will start on time.

Please make sure you can attend the calligraphy class before booking. Tickets are non-refundable.

If Government lockdown regulations mean that your in-person class has to be cancelled, you will have the opportunity to join an online class, or postpone to another in-person class at a later date.

This calligraphy course is just fantastic! Katie is a great teacher and she will follow you through the whole workshop with care even if you are not the only one in the room. This is not just a calligraphy workshop but an amazing experience,too! The venue is stunning, the cake offered is delicious and there is attention for every single detail! I attended their face-to-face class for the beginner course and the online class for the improver workshop and it has been, in both occasions, a very pleasant experience!

Really lovely class with plenty of opportunities for asking questions and 1-1 moments. The workshop booklet has loads of helpful tips, the pack of stationary to take home was a really nice touch too.
